Why are the mainline Churches stagnating in faith?

Churches are experiencing a lack of spirituality and conviction, and the answer will not be found in any revival fellowship. Jesus is the answer.

We see preachers speak about a revival in the church without much impact.

And to be honest, it is quite logical.

  • there’s no point waking a sleeping person without having a task to give them.

Jesus is the LORD our GOD, and in 1 Corinthians 12:27, Saint Paul says that we are the body of Christ on earth and individually, members of it.

When we partake of the Holy Communion, we renew our spirit in Christ through His flesh and blood.

Remember,

Christ Jesus, through His life and ministry focused on:

  1. Healing the sick
  2. Forgiving the sinner
  3. Preaching about the Kingdom of God

Today,

  • Many come to Church to be in the presence of God, to break loose from their pains of life’s material traps, and embrace His comfort and assurance. Christ is their living hope. They need to be reminded of their dignity even in suffering, as the LORD Jesus Himself saved the world – not through power, but through humility, suffering, and obedience to God.

The question comes back to us. Are we being able to become the channel of God’s blessing and peace to our congregation? Are we really the living body of Christ that brings end to suffering and guides the lost?

  • There are people who are pushed further from themselves being created in the image of God. The homeless, the hungry – we are not reaching out to them. We are fearful of speaking out against systemic tools of oppression because we are not prepared to bear the cost of truth.

The Church does not need a meaningless revival. It needs to stick to its mission of Imago Dei, it needs to rethink “What would Jesus do?”, and follow His discipleship.
